Detailed Description : Ham Sup has worked with hanji, traditional Korean paper made from the bark of mulberry trees, as his primary medium for over 30 years. Hanji is well known in Korea as a durable, versatile, and prized material, and as been an integral part of Korean daily life for centuries. Ham is regarded as a pioneer in hanji art for his revolutionary approach to what has typically been considered a utilitarian medium. His abstract and expressive compositions effectively combine tradition and Modern abstraction, celebrating the Korea of both the past and present. The painting-like appearance of Ham’s hanji compositions stems from his artistic training and education; Ham studied Western-style painting and life drawing at Hong-Ik University, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in 1966. Ham has participated in several major art fairs, including the San Francisco Fine Art Fair, Art Chicago, Art Miami, Art Basel, and Art Cologne.

Detailed Description : Ilhwa Kim’s work is composed of tens of thousands of individual seed units. Each seed unit is comprised of straight lines and circles, each of which signify their own tiny “universe”. The materials are not given, but created personally for each single universe. Kim dyes each sheet of paper by hand with thousands of different colors and cuts and rolls the layers of paper to make it rigid. It gives her an emotional bonding to each single universe. There is not a single universe has the same shape, look, color in her work. Kim recieved her Masters of Fine Arts in Oriental Painting from Hong-Ik University in Seoul in 1996. Her work has been exhibited at several notable galleries and venues, including the Seoul Art Center, Insa Art Center (Seoul), Dennos Museum (Michigan), The House of Fine Art (London), Art Miami, CONTEXT Art Miami, Art Palm Beach, and Art Paris.

Detailed Description : Korean sculptor Dong Lak Lim, who divides his time between Busan and Paris, creates large-scale stainless steel forms that occupy time as well as space and affect the light in their environs. Viewing Dong Lak Lim’s abstract sculptures, one is immediately struck by two things: the purity and precision of the highly inventive geometric forms, and the smoothness of the polished surfaces. His minimal form reveals a prime aspect of ideal beauty. Certainly there is in much of Lim’s recent work a kind of hyper-modern utopian impulse. Lim was nominated as the ninth executive director of the Operating Committee to lead the Busan Biennale. He is a member of Maison des Artistes (France), he has presented his work at the several distinguished art events and museums like Galerieverein Leonberg e.V. (2013, Germany), OPEN 15 in Venice (2012, Italy), and outdoor Sculpture Exhibition in Baden-Baden (2007, Germany).
